Friday Thankful Notes
I decided to do something a little different. I started this idea several years ago and then never did a thing with it. But after talking with my husband last night, I really feel a pull to focus on gratitude. What better month to do that than my favorite month of the year -November!
On Fridays or maybe Thursdays...or possibly Sundays and sometimes Saturdays, I am going to share my Thankful Notes. I'll share a list of things, big or small, that I love, things that bring me joy, and things that make life a little better. So let's get started. November Sunsets or really any sunset. We have a really amazing view from our front door and from my office window. Other than the sheer beauty of a colorful fall sky lights, there is something about a sunset that is such a peaceful reminder that no matter what circumstances we are faced with in our lives, the sun will always set and rise the next morning.
College Webinars No, I'm not crazy. I remember the college admission process when I was a senior in high school to be something like this. My brother was at a college. I went to visit him. He showed me around. I printed out a paper application, filled it out, paid a nominal fee, I got accepted, and I showed up in the fall. Somewhere along the way, I earned my degree. Today that scenario is a whole lot different and as a parent, I am so grateful for all the resources the prospective colleges offer to help make this laborious process a little more manageable and a lot less stressful. If you're a parent to a high senior, reach out to me and let's hold hands!
Bible App Where would I be without my morning devotionals? I have loved this app for many years, have completed hundred of plans, and love the video verse of the day teaching. I need this morning grounding of my spirit to help me navigate through the rest of my day. Whether I'm feeling overwhelmed, full of fear or simply want focus on being present in my life, I am so thankful for this app. Download it here if you don't have already and let's be friends.
MidinMod Furniture I am child of the 1970s and I love everything in this Mid Century Modern Furniture store. It's not only affordable, but the quality is amazing. When we moved in August and I was so desperately tired of seeing the same sofas over and over again at all the local stores, I found this gem based in Houston. It's unique and exactly what I wanted. We even visited it a couple weeks ago. Bonus! They deliver to DFW and Austin! We have two sofas and a dining table and will probably add more. This fun blue velvet sofa sleeper is a favorite addition to my office and is a comfy bed to any guests who want to come visit!
Avocados and Brunch I think this goes without saying but I could eat an avocado everyday for the rest of my life and I don't think I'd ever get tired of it. While on our visit to Houston last month, we discovered a breakfast / brunch place called The Toasted Yolk and I loved it so much, we went twice! They have locations across Texas and are expanding into a few other states including Florida, Tennessee and Alabama. You can never go wrong with avocado toast, but I'll definitely be back for the West Coast Arnold!
That's it for this now. Be sure to subscribe to my blog below so you can get all the latest updates on all things I am thankful for and things I love.
